What I’m Reading Right Now

I’ve always got a mix of fiction and non-fiction on my reading list.

I just reread an Elmore Leonard classic that you can easily find in used bookstores. Glitz has classic characters and the terrific dialogue that Leonard is known for (and because I’m a fan of the series Justified, I also read Raylan which is somewhat a collection of short stories that show up in the series.

Bad Monkey is by one of my other favorite authors, Carl Hiaasen. It just released, I’m halfway through and liking it as much as all of his other odd, quirky, hilarious books.

Also just finished The First 20 Hours by Josh Kaufman that has some great ideas for those interested in learning better and faster. Those methods are not the entire book, however. He shares his experiences applying them to yoga, windsurfing and touch-typing and the latter takes up the bigger part of the book.

Control Alt Delete: Reboot Your Business. Reboot Your Life. Your Future Depends on it by Mitch Joel has the longest title of any non-fiction book I’ve read lately. I think he has great insight into what’s going on in business and culture today and the implications that guide what we should do.

I  highly recommend The Art of Thinking Clearly by Rolf Dobelli. It will help you accomplish just what it promises in the title.

And finally, just got a copy of DO IT! Marketing by my friend David Newman and it looks terrific. Wonderful format and lots of great bite-size ideas you can use. I got to read an advance copy and gladly provided an endorsement. You’ll benefit from reading it.
